Other Pets: We usually recommend keeping other pets inside during your pet's passing. If the other pets are social and laid back - then it may ok if they choose to be present. After your pet has passed, we encourage you to consider bringing them out to say their goodbyes. This can be an important part of the sibling pet’s closure as it prevents searching behaviors/looking for the lost pet to return.  There are times when it may be appropriate for another pet to be present for the procedure, but usually the other pet is more interested in the veterinarian and her bags (new smells, new person) than in the euthanasia process.  Usually, after your pet has passed, the veterinarian will take their bags and go outside so that the other pets are not distracted and can concentrate on saying their goodbyes.
