Dr. Calvin Carrington

Calvin grew up working with his grandfather’s herd of milking shorthorn dairy cattle in Western Massachusetts. He grew up participating in the local 4-H group and was passionate about showing his cattle at the county fairs in the area.

Initially pursing a bachelors degree in biotechnology with plans for working in a lab performing biological and medical research, Calvin was exposed to a variety of avenues within the animal industry and discovered how closely related biotech and veterinary medicine are while in undergrad.

After graduating with a Bachelors degree in biology from Rochester Institute of Technology in New York in 2016, Calvin went on to pursue his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at Tufts University in Massachusetts.

After graduating from Tufts Veterinary College in 2020, Calvin spent over a year working as an urgent care veterinarian at the Veterinary and Specialty Hospital in South Deerfield. He then left urgent care in pursuit of wellness and prevention.  He currently practices at PetVet Belchertown, a veterinary wellness center at the Tractor Supply.

Calvin and his partner share their home with their 4 fur babies, (3 cats - Francis, Freya & Fern and 1 dog - Blomb). Calvin enjoys, hiking, traveling, and relaxing at home with the family.

Dr. Calvin recently completed the Companion Animal Euthanasia Training Academy (CAETA) Peaceful Euthanasia Master Program.
